How are ideas generated and implemented into projects?

Stage 1: giving birth to a concept

Website creation is a highly complex process and involves a large team, who work together to bring a concept to life.

01 First, we need to define the task at hand. That is, to study the client's needs and state them clearly in the form of a brief. At this stage, we ask as many questions as possible to gain a better understanding of both the client's business and project ideas.
02 Then the completed brief is submitted for company approval. Specialists pre-assign responsibilities and answer the main question: How will we make this website successful and different from those of competitors? At this stage, it is important to perform thorough analysis of the subject area in which the client works. This research is aimed at studying both the positive and negative experience of other companies as this information is a key when developing a new concept.
03 Once the preparatory work has been completed, the project can get underway. At this stage a concept is born. When creating concepts, EDISON uses brainstorming – a method invented in the 1930s. This innovative process produces about one hundred unique ideas within a short period of time.

What do clients gain as a result? They receive several selected ideas which are developed based on their needs and demands and with due consideration of their market. We write down all thoughts, including sketches and models. All work from this point forward depends on the expertise and skill of the EDISON team.

Stage 2: from the concept to the product

The concept for the new website has been approved and the design process can now begin. Up to 10 EDISON specialists take part in this stage of the project:

  • Designer
  • Pagemaker
  • Copywriter
  • Proofreader
  • Content-manager
  • Translator
  • Programmer
  • Tester
  • Art-director or project manager

You can only create a really high-quality product if you have a really well-coordinated and professional team. Some specialists work full-time, others are employed only when the need arises. As a rule, the development process is quite dynamic and several stages are developed in parallel if possible. Architects and designers often start work at the same time.

Then, once a pagemaker has converted the designer's drawing into the necessary format, a vector animator designs the graphical elements. At the same time, copywriters and proofreaders prepare the text material necessary for the website. Then all of the information, graphical elements, program code and the website model are combined. A tester performs a detailed technical examination of website functionality. The creative director or project manager supervises the entire process.

Website texts can be written using the materials clients already has at their disposal or can be developed from scratch. It takes at least two copywriters to produce high-quality content. They can either write different texts or several versions of the same article for consideration by the client. A proofreader adds the finishing touches to completed texts. If the company wants to position itself both on the local and world market, web content must be translated. EDISON applies a two-stage working model here: first, you get the basic translation and then a native speaker proofreads the text for errors.

When all of the website elements are in place and have been tested, the first part of the project is complete. Then quality assurance specialists test the site for functionality, vulnerability and stability.

At this stage, we have a turnkey website that is ready to go online. Now we register the desired domain name and sign a contract with a given hosting-provider. EDISON only works with the best UK and US hosting-providers. This is because only professional hosting can guarantee reliability and fail-safe access to your new website.

Finally, the new website is brought online. Now it needs to be promoted and made more accessible to potential users. Internet marketing analysis is the best option here and proves the most effective. Following this, we compile a list of keywords for the website to help with search engine optimisation (SEO). As soon as you find keywords that really “sell”, the necessary corrections can be made to your existing texts. Other internet-advertising tools are also used, for example: marketing campaign generation, links exchanges, banners, social media, etc.
